WordPress Project Manager

Job description

Ready to coordinate successful WordPress projects with cutting edge educational technologies? Our niche WordPress agency helps small businesses, schools and non-profits use WordPress to help people learn. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to create online training platforms that make education more accessible for millions of users.

We’re looking for a WordPress expert with significant experience managing both small and large WordPress projects. You will lead both platform and plugin development initiatives across projects that may span a few hours to a few months. You view clients as partners, not just customers, and thrive on getting things done while reducing friction for colleagues and clients. You enjoy managing tasks and timelines and ensuring clients are thrilled with the outcome.

While the successful candidate does not need to be a developer, strong experience in the WordPress admin panel and front end is essential. Diagnosing simple issues and adhering to WordPress best practices should be second nature to you.

This is a demanding position that requires a high degree of independence, strong communication skills and impeccable attention to detail.  The rewards of the position are equally great, as you'll work on sites that make a genuine difference in people's lives and are far more complex and interactive than you'll find with almost any other WordPress agency.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will be:

  • An expert at managing complex WordPress projects, with several years of WordPress experience under your belt
  • An experienced Project Manager; CAPM or PMP certification are helpful
  • Skilled at configuring WordPress and WordPress plugins
  • Adept at writing technical requirements for developers to create custom functionality
  • Comfortable with a high volume of communication and switching tasks at a moment’s notice
  • Quick to resolve issues that pop up and collaborate with developers to close them
  • Able to easily distinguish between good and bad user experiences and designs
  • Good at validating the work of others, creating documentation, and coaching clients on the use of their new WordPress site

Any experience in education, particularly with instructional design in a blended or virtual environment, would be extremely helpful.

You will be juggling 5-10 projects at a time, some big and some small. Strong organizational skills are essential.

Our team is based in Toronto but everyone works remotely. We are considering candidates outside of Toronto but you must be based in Ontario.
